Mind the Maze

Track your journey through London's Underground labyrinths

Forget Subway Surfer, Candy Crush or Wordle, because the London Underground comes equipped with its very own game.

Mind the Maze is your companion for tracking the iconic labyrinth artworks created by Mark Wallinger to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the London Underground.

In 2013, a unique labyrinth was installed at every Underground station that existed at the time. Each is a black-on-white enamel plaque with a red cross marking the entrance, numbered according to the route taken by contestants in the 2009 Guinness World Records Tube Challenge.

Some are easy to spot in ticket halls. Others are tucked away on a platform, down a staircase, or along a corridor. If you have ever seen one and wondered what it was, that is what you are looking for.

That original set of 270 was joined in October 2023 by two more at Nine Elms and Battersea Power Station, the Northern line stations that opened in 2021, to mark the artwork's tenth anniversary, bringing the total to 272.

Whether you're a visitor exploring London or a local commuter, Mind the Maze helps you discover, capture, and track your progress as you collect all 272 labyrinths throughout the Tube network.
